Robert Downey Jr. Shares How Uncomfortable The Iron Man Suit Was

Robert Downey Jr. is retired from playing “Iron Man,” which is good news for him because he apparently hated wearing that helmet.

Downy sat down with David Letterman on his Netflix chat show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” and dished on how uncomfortable the original superhero armor was to act in those first couple of films.

The directors would tell him they were rolling and he said that when he moved, the helmet would slam shut, and he couldn’t see anything.

“And then these LED lights went on, and it was like Manchurian Candidate, like I was absolutely blinded.”

But things got easier for him as time went on because the CGI budgets picked up and he would just have them use a computer to give him his signature lid.
