Tom Morello Recruits Bring Me The Horizon For 'Let's Get The Party Started'

Tom Morello's proving that genre labels really don't matter with his upcoming album The Atlas Underground Fire. The album's first offering was a cover of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" featuring Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and Bruce Springsteen and it's second was an electro-tinged ballad called "Driving to Texas," which saw the guitar virtuoso join forces with Phantogram. Now, he's recruited Bring Me The Horizon for another track that is in a lane of its own: "Let's Get The Party Started."

"This song was written on three continents — Oli [Sykes, BMTH singer] was in Brazil, Jordan [Fish, BMTH keyboardist]] was in England and I was here in L.A. It was a real United Nations of metal coming together (remotely) at the height of the pandemic," Morello wrote about the song in an Instagram post. "I think it captures the angst and frustration of that crazy time boiling over into an all-time mosh pit. This song also has one of my favorite guitar solos that I’ve played in quite a while, as I was really losing my mind and channeled it through the amp."

The Atlas Underground Fire will also feature the likes of Chris Stapleton, Damian Marley, Mike Posner, grandson and more, and was the product of quarantine. "Whereas the previous Atlas Underground record had a very strict manifesto of this alloy of Marshall stack guitar and bass drops with social justice ghost stories as the thread woven between, this record was basically a drowning man grabbing at a life raft," Morello explained. "I was playing as if my life and sanity depended on it. These songs are really a product of this historical moment. They came out of a dark, anxiety-riddled period as a true musical beam of hope."

The Atlas Underground Fire is slated for an October 15 release.
