Tom Petty's second home, on California's Lake Sherwood in Thousand Oaks, is up for sale, a month after his sudden death from a heart attack in his Malibu home at the age of 66.
Known as Casa Della Madonna, the 53-hundred square-foot home has 125 feet of lakefront property, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, numerous balconies, vaulted ceilings, ornate stonework throughout and a private dock.
It was built in 1931 for actor Rudolph Valentino, but he died before it was completed. Subsequent owners included author Francis Meehan and composer Ralph Carmichael, whose songs were recorded by Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. Petty purchased it from the listing agent, Dana Sparks, in 2007.
The asking price is $5.9 million, or you can just take over the $25,000 per month mortgage.
