WOODSTOCK: Dig It

What was once Max Yasgur's farm, and is most famously known as the site of the original Woodstock festival, was given a once over recently by archaeologists from Binghamton University’s Public Archaeology Facility.

For five days they canvassed the Bethel, New York field and came up with aluminum can pull tabs and broken bottle glass. But the goal was to map out exactly where the stage was so that future visitors and generations know exactly where The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Santana, The Band and other stood on those three days in August 1969.

The open field is on the National Register of Historic Places, while just over the hillside sits The Museum at Bethel Woods and the performing arts center.

Kevin in the Morning!
