Last weekend was exciting for 60 dogs and their owners in San Diego, California, as they all gathered to compete at the 13th annual Imperial Beach Surf Dog Competition.
These dogs -- of all shapes, sizes, breeds and ages -- hopped up on their surf boards and rode two- to four-foot waves toward the Imperial Beach Pier.
Some stood on their surfboards on four paws, while others made the trip lying down. Some of the rides were made with their owners, while others featured dogs riding tandem with another dog -- one in front, one in back.
The event is organized each year to raise money for the San Diego Humane Society, which means the dogs and the owners were all having a blast for a good cause. (San Diego Union Tribune)
