A few college football games were played last weekend, but tonight, there’s a big slate of games being played, which means college football is back.
But even though college football has never been more popular, attendance at the games is on the decline.
Industry insiders say attendance dropped three percent last season, the biggest drop in 34 years. And, there isn’t expected to be much of a rebound this season.
It seems that fewer fans have been following their team on the road over the past five years. This makes sense because so many of the games are on TV these days. Why deal with the hassle of traveling -- either to the stadium or out of town -- when watching everything on TV is so easy? (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
