Police in Chicago are asking for the public's help in finding and identifying a man -- not to arrest him, but to thank him.
Early last Thursday morning, at about 3:40 a.m., a police officer was responding to a domestic disturbance call when she collided with another vehicle. Her squad car then caught fire and she found herself trapped inside.
Suddenly, and seemingly out of nowhere, a man showed up and pulled her out of the burning wreckage. Before she could thank the mystery man, he was gone.
A police spokesman said, "We’d like to thank the good Samaritan who helped the officer this morning." The officer was treated for minor injuries. (Chicago Tribune
