Do you have more confidence in your plane pilot based on his or her accent?

A new survey of U.S. travelers found that 54 percent of respondents are more or less confident in their pilot based on the pilot’s accent. So which accent do travelers trust most?  63 percent said they had more confidence in someone with an Upper Midwestern accent and 58 percent had the most trust in a pilot with a Southern Californian accent.

Accents That Draw the Most Amount of Confidence:

1. Upper Midwestern -- 63 percent
2. Southern Californian -- 58 percent
3. Great Lakes -- 51 percent
4. Central Canadian -- 45 percent
5. Southwestern U.S. -- 37 percent

Accents That Draw the Least Amount of Confidence:

1. Texan -- 65 percent
2. New York -- 59 percent
3. General American -- 54 percent
4. Central Canadian -- 45 percent
