Sammy Hagar is expanding his Cabo Wabo restaurant chain to its biggest market -- New York City.
He's signed a 10-year lease to take over a 8300-square-foot space in Times Square next spring. Actor Mark Wahlberg's Wahlburgers was supposed to move in there, but that fell through.
Hagar opened the first Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 1990 and now has locations in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and Hollywood.
He is down in Cabo this week with The Circle for his annual Birthday Bash shows, which start tonight (Tuesday) followed by Thursday and Saturday, his 71st birthday.
