Starting today, Luke Skywalker's lightsaber from the original Star Wars movie is up for auction -- and it’s expected to be sold for between $150,000 and $200,000.
The movie prop is being described as the “original” lightsaber. But, it’s not that simple.
Mark Hamill explained on Twitter that he used a bunch of lightsabers while filming the movie. So, maybe this is the “original” lightsaber. Or, maybe not. (Den of Geek)
- f you’re interested in spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on this thing, it’s also important to realize that it doesn’t actually light up and doesn’t actually cut anything. Buyer beware, yo.
- Then again… If you’re a fan of Star Wars movies, is there a better piece of memorabilia than Luke’s lightsaber? If you’re going to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on something, isn’t that the thing to get?
- Could be a great stocking stuffer? Kevin in the Morning!
